OpenTax 致力于为跨境电商卖家、财税合规开发者及企业财务团队提供全美最权威、精准且实时的消费税(Sales & Use Tax)数据体系。本文档公开披露数据来源、核验流程、计算逻辑与更新周期。

1

Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board (SSTGB)

24 Member States Official Directives

For the 24 SST member states (such as Washington, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Arkansas, Indiana, Nevada, etc.), tax rates and boundary definitions are synced directly from official SST quarterly and monthly rate schedules.

2

State Revenue & Taxation Departments

Non-SST Jurisdictions Official Sources

For independent state taxing authorities (California CDTFA, New York DTF, Texas Comptroller, Florida DOR, Illinois IDOR, Pennsylvania DOR, etc.), data is parsed directly from state publication bulletins, city/county rate files, and special tax district registers.

3

US Census Bureau & Postal Geographic Standards

FIPS Spatial Mapping & Coordinates

County boundaries, municipal incorporation limits, latitude/longitude centroids, and Census FIPS codes are aligned with US Census Bureau TIGER/Line geographic shapefiles.

🔄 Monthly Sync & Quality Control Pipeline

01. Automated Ingestion: Monthly ETL jobs harvest state and municipal rate updates.
02. Cross-Verification: Rate deltas are automatically cross-checked against county court rulings and local ballot ballot measures.
03. In-Memory Trie Index Build: Aggregated rates are indexed into immutable radix structures for sub-millisecond API lookups.

📐 Tax Calculation Formulas

Combined Rate = State Rate + County Rate + City Rate + Special District Rate

Tax Amount = RoundHalfUp(Transaction Amount × Combined Rate, 2)

For ZIP codes spanning multiple special taxing districts or municipal borders, OpenTax displays the representative blended rate and clearly reports the minimum and maximum possible variance.
