OpenTax grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to query tax data and integrate our APIs subject to the following rules:
- You may not engage in abusive, high-frequency request floods or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) actions.
- You may not use the service for any unlawful or deceptive purposes under US Federal or State law.
- Public API endpoints are subject to rate limiting to maintain stability for all users. We reserve the right to throttle abusive clients.

All services and data are provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind.
5. 5. Intellectual Property & Attribution
The OpenTax software platform and interface code are licensed under open-source terms. Tax jurisdictional schedules are sourced from Streamlined Sales Tax (SST) and geographic boundary datasets from SimpleMaps (CC BY 4.0).

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of OpenTax signifies your acceptance of updated terms.
